MANIFOLD DESIGN ENGINEER Lincolnshire, IL, US

Our Design Engineering Department has an opening for a Manifold Design Engineer at our facility in Lincolnshire, IL.

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Manifold Design Engineering Group Manager, the Manifold Design Engineer assists in the development of new products, solving design problems; adapt, alter, or improve existing products, from documented requirement outlines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Interpret design input and translate into design of custom hydraulic manifold housings
and develop detailed drawings for manufacturing and assembly of the manifolds.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues associated with design and manufacturing of
the manifold.
• Communicate with sales to resolve design issues, and work closely with manufacturing
and suppliers to assist with design issues.
• Produce and maintain design drawings in the computerized system.
• Redesign standard products, improving quality and productivity, while reducing costs.
• Meet engineering standards, applicable procedures, customer specifications within
cost constraints.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design
and quality problems, and ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes
and methods.
• Comply with all quality and safety regulations.
• Adapt, alter, or improve existing products working from documented requirement outlines
• May direct the activities of a Drafter.

Education and Experience:
• BSME with two years of design experience preferred.
• CAD proficiency is required. AutoCAD and Pro-E experience preferred.
• Experience in hydraulic manifold design or complex layout design is preferred.
• Firm understanding of drafting practices.
• Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing practices required.
• Familiarity with CNC milling machines.
• Familiarity with metal cutting methods.
• Knowledge of hydraulic principles strongly preferred.
• Basic understanding of valve types and functions.
• Understanding of valve symbols.
• Understanding of valve port logic.

• Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, customers and other employees of
the organization
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference,
and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry

DRAFTER Lincolnshire, IL, US

Our Lincolnshire facility has a Drafter position available which will lend support to our design engineering team in product design and development for hydraulic valve components and manifold systems design.

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position include drafting assignments of limited complexity relative to modeling and detail drawing. Duties include creating, altering, and maintaining detailed drawings, producing engineering changes to drawings and creating bill of materials. This position works under the supervision of the Engineering Service's or a Design Engineer/Project Engineer who will provide detailed instruction and guidance

Education and Experience:
• One year technical/drafting education (prefer certificate or degree) required or two years
minimum related work experience in mechanical design drafting.
• Proficient with computer software programs such as MS Word, Excel, CAD Modeling,
ideally Pro-E or Wildfire.
• Basic Knowledge of drawing and dimensioning practices and reading mechanical drawings.

ANALYSIS/DESIGN ENGINEER Lincolnshire, IL, US

Our Lincolnshire facility has a unique analysis/design engineer opportunity in the engineering analysis group to support advanced product development using simulation based product techniques for hydraulic valve component and manifold systems design.

Responsibilities:
Main responsibilities include the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for hydraulic valves and manifold assemblies developments. Duties include preparing models for simulation, preprocessing, solving, post-processing results and results documentation according to our analysis standards. Ideal candidate will participate in verification and validation planning against testing data for CFD analysis activities.

Other additional responsibilities will involve generating concepts/designs for new valve products and modifying and trouble shooting existing valve and manifold products for improvements and meeting design objectives. This includes coordinating project activities such as lab testing, parts procurement, manufacturing and assembly operations and writing lab test requests and reports, etc.

Education and Experience:
• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field with solid background in fluid
mechanics. Other experiences and background in design, FEA and structural mechanics
are desired.
• 1-3 years experience with common CFD programs such as Fluent, ANSYS and/or CFX.
Some additional experience with FEA programs is preferred.
• 1-3 years experience in one or more of the following areas; design, analysis, test and/or
evaluation as part of a product development program.
• Experience in Pro/E or equivalent CAD systems.
• Understanding of hydraulic valves and equipments and/or experience with hydraulic systems
is a plus

APPLICATION ENGINEER Lincolnshire, IL, US

Our Sales and Marketing Department is looking for an Application Engineer with a four-year engineering degree in a mechanical or electrical discipline or five years of experience in a similar position. Must be proficient in hydraulic circuits and components. Must possess knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as strength of materials, electrical systems, fabrication PLC’s etc. Must possess strong technical skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting and work well under pressure. Must be able to travel to customer sites when necessary.

Job Duties:
• Design custom hydraulic integrated circuits based on customer input.
• Work on-sight with customers to develop new circuits and commission the circuits.
• Assist customers with hands-on trouble-shooting.
• Collect data and develop engineering reports based on valve tests.
• Collaborate regularly with design engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing.
• Communicate with clients, sales managers, and engineering
to resolve design input issues.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues associated with design
and manufacturing of an integrated circuit as well as electrical controls.

TECHNICAL SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE Lincolnshire, IL, US

WARRANTY CONTROL ENGINEER Birmingham, U.K.

This is a new role, which has been created to co-ordinate and manage the goods return process, from initial receipt through to satisfactory resolution. You will ensure that the process is managed effectively and efficiently to ensure that our high levels of customer service are achieved and maintained. Technically minded, with excellent organisational skills, you are likely to have come from a quality background with experience of working in a similar role.

Responsibilities:
• Receive, review and evaluate warranty claims in accordance with the company's Customer
Returns Procedure.
• Coordinate investigations into rejected components & assemblies, from initial receipt
through to satisfactory resolution within agreed timeframes to meet customer requirements.
• Test components and assemblies to defined parameters to identify issues and assess
customer claims.
• Prepare investigation reports, utilising information gleaned through the goods returns
process to verify cause of faults and means by which they can be addressed.
• Act as a focal point for customers to discuss details of the investigations and provide
feedback on a timely basis to their satisfaction.
• Build relationships with internal and external suppliers, OEMs, customers and end-users.
• Act as liaison between internal departments to track the goods returned process and ensure
satisfactory resolution of complaints is achieved within agreed timeframes.
• Instigate route cause analysis to assist in implementing future action plans.

Qualifications and Experience:
• A minimum HNC / HND in a mechanical engineering discipline is essential, with proven
experience in a similar role.
• Comprehensive understanding of lean manufacturing and quality tools such as 8D, TOPS,
RCA.
• Experienced in QMS and fully conversant with ISO 14001 & ISO 9001.
• Demonstrable experience in a similar position.
• Computer literate, with sound knowledge of Microsoft packages, experienced in use of MRP
and Quality Control systems.

Skills:
• Customer focused, able to build quality related relationships at senior levels.
• A high degree of self-motivation, commitment and the ability to work unsupervised.
• Competence in the use of hydraulic test equipment preferred, although training will be
provided.
• Ability to tackle problems creatively and achieve desired outcome in an efficient and cost
effective manner.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a number of activities, be able to
define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Able to apply sound judgment and decision-making skills in dealing with a variety of routine
and non-routine issues.
