New Electronic Spool Position Sensor
for Hydraulic Directional Valves
HydraForce PD Series pilot-operated hydraulic directional valves are now available with a built-in electronic Hall-effect spool position sensor. The sensor produces a low-current output signal for an electronic control system or safety monitoring system to verify whether the valve is in neutral or shifted position. This new non-contact electronic sensor technology is both more economical and more reliable than traditional switches which often fail due to normal mechanical wear and direct contact with full hydraulic system pressures.
The spool position sensor accepts supply voltages from 9 to 28 VDC, and supply currents up to 9 mA. Output can be sinking or sourcing at up to 25 mA. Maximum sinking output voltage is 0.40 VDC; maximum sourcing output voltage is 28 VDC. Standard termination is a 12 mm circular connector, with or without a leadwire attachment. Patents are pending.
