HSV12-40RB Valve symbol


A high pressure, solenoid-operated, four-way, two-position, direct-acting, spool-type, screw-in
hydraulic cartridge valve intended for use in fan drive applications when shifting at maximum
rated flow is not necessary. The valve spool has an open transition state.

When de-energized, the HSV12-40RB allows flow from ports 3 to 4 and from ports 2 to 1.
When energized, the spool shifts to allow flow from ports 3 to 2, and from ports 4 to 1.

Operation of Manual Override Option: The manual override feature is intended for emergency
use, not continuous duty operation. To activate, turn the knurled adjustment knob clockwise until
the valve shifts. To deactivate, turn the adjustment knob counterclockwise until it stops.

Flow: 60 lpm (16 gpm) max. de-energized or energized. See performance graph titled

Max. Internal Leakage: Port 3 to 1, De-energized: 492 ml/minute (30 cu. in./minute.) at 350 bar (5075 psi);

Temperature: -54 to 107 °C (-65 to 225 °F) with urethane seals.
Minimum Pull-In Voltage: 10.2 VDC (12 VDC coil)
Response Time: Energized - 23 ms and De-Energized - 38 ms First indication of change of state
  with 100% voltage applied to the coil with flow at 24 lpm (6.3 gpm) with the inlet at port 3, ports
  2 and 4 looped, and port 1 to tank.
