A Field Trip For HydraForce Engineering Interns

Each year, HydraForce offers engineering internships and the year 2020, despite its challenges, was no exception. This year’s group included 11 students from 8 colleges and universities, from Tennessee to our home state of Illinois.

The students were all in various stages of their engineering studies at their respective schools, and were assigned projects in valve design, automation, quality, manufacturing, warranty and applications engineering at HydraForce.  The internships were for 12 weeks and the interns came to work at HydraForce each day during a time when many office employees were working from home.

At the end of the summer, they were able to gain a unique perspective on engineering when our neighbor in Lincolnshire, Blackdog Performance Cars, invited them on a field trip to their fabrication shop, where they learned about the aerodynamics of designing race cars and engines.
