HydraForce Founders Jim Brizzolara and Dick Fontecchio Named to Fluid Power Hall of Fame

HydraForce is proud to announce that Jim Brizzolara and Dick Fontecchio were BOTH inducted in the Fluid Power Hall of Fame on Wednesday, October 6 in Reno, NV. Jim received a legacy award and Dick a posthumous award. The Hall of Fame is managed by the International Fluid Power Society, who announced the winners on Fluid Power Professionals Day, June 18th.

"The success of the Fluid Power industry is not in its hardware, pumps, valves, cylinders, and hoses – but rather the success is through the efforts of our dedicated individuals - Innovators, researchers, application engineers, educators, as well as sales and service personnel. These people are the reasons that our industry continues to thrive," the Society states on its website.

The award criteria are strict - to qualify, an individual must have a verifiable 25+ cumulative years in the Fluid Power Industry and have demonstrated excellence and made significant contributions to fluid power throughout that career. Nominations are screened by a Panel of Judges and only a handful of individuals are selected. This year's living inductees include Jim, Peter Achten, PhD, an efficiency and energy conservation expert; Timothy Bailey, a fluid power "activist" from Australia; George Doig, founder of Numatics; Craig Fox, trainer, teacher and author of the Lightning Reference Handbook and Eaton's Industrial Hydraulics Manual; Medhat Khalil, PhD, Director of Education and Research for the Applied Technology Center of MSOE; Noah Manning, PhD, P.E., Dean of Engineering for the University of Missouri. Posthumous inductees include Dick and Harley Bergre, founder of Power Systems, our fluid power distributor in Minnesota.
