Counterbalance valves, also known as load holding valves, prevent uncontrolled movement or drifting of a load in hydraulic systems, ensuring load stability and protection. They maintain a set pressure on one side of a hydraulic actuator while allowing controlled flow in the opposite direction, providing precise control over load movement.
Bosch Rexroth makes single- and double-acting counterbalance valves with a variety of pilot ratios and features, including vented, relief-compensated, regenerative, and brake ports, for flow rates from 40 to 550 lpm (11 to 145 gpm) and operating pressures from 210 to 410 bar (3045 to 5947 psi).
