Discover the latest Industry Trends at iVT Expo, Cologne 2023

The iVT Expo Conference returns at the end of this month in Cologne, Germany; with three highly anticipated subjects on the agenda. The annual event will house three streams, which will headline each of the conference areas and will include Autonomy, Electric & Hybrid Solutions, and Cabin Design.

Following a successful conference in 2022, this year’s Industrial Vehicle Technology event will span two days from 28 – 29 June, with 80 industry experts speaking on different topics which will shape the future of every class of industrial vehicle; including construction, mining, agricultural, material handling and off-highway. Each stream will run simultaneously, providing visitors the perfect opportunity to attend the topic that is most relevant to their business.

Autonomous Hardware, Software, Testing & Validation

The interest in Smart Vehicles is growing significantly across the industry, and iVT have chosen one of the hottest topics to present at their two-day conference.

Exclusively focused on the future development of highly automated unmanned vehicles; this stream centres on discussing the challenges of autonomy, safety solutions, and the newest technologies needed to support the deployment of autonomous vehicles. With speakers deep-diving into topics including Precision Control; Fleet management & Diagnostics; and AI for off-highway vehicles – there is guaranteed to be something here for everyone.

The session is ideally hosted by Joachim Stieler, of Market Research Business - Stieler Technologie- & Marketing-Beratung GmbH & Co. KG, who previously led early research into the subject of Autonomous Agricultural Machines.

Electric, Hybrid & Alternative Powertrain Solutions

With expert speakers from companies such as Bosch Rexroth and EPEC, this stream focuses on the design and development of electric, hybrid and alternative fuel technologies for de-carbonisation. The two days look at exploring zero-emission machinery, hydrogen fuel cells, and electrification in agriculture; as well as providing real-life industry case studies and software solutions.

Opening the conference with a presentation about the main market drivers for electrified mobile machinery and closing with the question of “Does the perfect electric motor for mobile machinery exist?” – this conference stream promises to provide the answer to a lot of questions within the industry; as well as helping visitors improve the sustainability of their businesses, as we strive towards a zero-emissions future.

Cab Design, Ergonomics, Controls, HMI and Human Factors

Exploring next-generation cabin design, this stream will provide visitors with information on display systems & electronics, enhanced productivity, remote monitoring, and operator comfort. Delving into topics from the evolution of operator cabins, through to the new integration of smart technologies and AI - it is worth attending several of this stream’s sessions, as the numerous topics are relevant to many businesses within the industry.

The end of Day 1 will also feature an exclusive, not to be missed, Panel Discussion, which will bring together four of the day’s conference speakers from institutions including Technische Universität Dresden and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd. The Panel will discuss topics beyond the regular agenda, including ‘generational bias in the acceptance of AR / VR solutions, boundary conditions in the development and implications for human-machine interactions’.

The iVT Exhibition

In addition to the conference, iVT Expo simultaneously hosts an international tradeshow, which welcomes up to 200 leading international exhibitors. The show includes the latest technologies, innovative ideas, and future concepts for the next generation of industrial vehicles, which will help visitors improve design, efficiency, and save energy.

HydraForce will be showcasing at the exhibition, after joining forces with Bosch Rexroth in February this year. The booth will display HydraForce products and technologies ranging from the innovative Cab Suspension and Proportional Pressure Reducing/ Relieving G3 Product line; to the new HF Impulse 2.0 and an exclusive demo of the Innercept™ Digital Proportional Control. The latter of which is the first cartridge valve of its kind with onboard LVDT technology, offering plug-and-play simplicity for Off-Highway Precision applications. All this will sit alongside Bosch Rexroth’s High Precision Digital Control EDG Block, and the brand-new E-Motion Plus - an electronic compensation, specially created for Boom Control. Come and visit HydraForce in Hall 11.1, Booth 2050.

The iVT Expo exhibition opens from 10:00 am on Wednesday 28th June, closing at 17:00 on Thursday 29th June, and is free to enter. Register for a free pass, via the iVT Expo website.
