Robust compact hydraulic solutions for construction machinery

  • Solutions for excavator boom suspension, slewing gear control, transmission and braking
  • Bosch Rexroth valve technology combines precise control with lower energy losses
  • HydraForce expands machine intelligence with monitored valves and closed loop control

Shanghai, China. At bauma China 2026, Bosch Rexroth and its subsidiary HydraForce will present compact hydraulic solutions developed for the performance, control and integration requirements of modern construction machinery. Visitors can explore the combined portfolio from November 24 to 27 at stand N4.511 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

The exhibit connects hydraulic components, electronics and software with application specific manifold design. The solutions support precise machine functions and simplify integration across excavators and other off highway equipment.

“The combined Bosch Rexroth and HydraForce portfolio gives machine manufacturers access to a broad range of compact hydraulic technology and engineering expertise. At bauma China, we will show how this combination can address specific machine challenges and support the development of integrated hydraulic solutions,” said Jingwei He, Head of RBU of Compact Hydraulics in China.

Bosch Rexroth solutions for precise control

Load holding valves

Bosch Rexroth load holding valves are designed for reliable load management in mobile machines such as compact excavators and telehandlers. Their compact design helps reduce wear and supports stable machine operation in construction, agriculture and material handling applications.

H Valve and E Valve ranges

Developed for excavators from three to 50 tons, the H Valve range helps improve fuel efficiency by limiting pressure losses. The E Valve range adds electronic control for precise movements and shorter cycle times. Its ghost mode function can further reduce energy consumption when hydraulic power is not required.

EDG OBE piloted compact directional valves

The modular EDG OBE range integrates electronics into a compact directional valve platform. It provides precise, reliable control for applications including aerial work platforms, forklifts and agricultural cranes, where controlled movement is essential.

HydraForce application solutions for construction machinery

Excavator boom suspension manifold

The boom suspension manifold supports working pressures up to 420 bar and flow rates up to 150 l/min. Low leakage prevents unwanted boom movement when suspension is inactive, while mechanical pressure adjustment avoids complex software during setup. The manifold can be flanged between the hose rupture valve and the cylinder, installed on the boom or arm cylinder and combined with a separate activation manifold. A complete package with controller, software and system layout is available. The solution meets ISO 8643 hose burst testing requirements.

Slewing gear control manifold

Designed for flow rates up to 120 l/min and working pressures up to 350 bar, or 420 bar with a ten percent duty cycle, the manifold supports flow- or pressure-based braking in open or closed center hydraulic systems. Cartridge technology simplifies tuning and allows the layout to adapt to the available installation space. Anti-cavitation and anti-shock valves, pilot pressure generation and mechanical brake control can be integrated according to the machine architecture. A SIL 2 or Performance Level d rating is achievable for the brake function, excluding the motor brake.

Transmission manifold

The transmission manifold combines PowerShift control with oil distribution for lubrication areas and pressure levels. Its low leakage, pilot-operated TS90 G34L drop-in valve can enable a smaller dedicated gear pump for transmission and lubrication. Designed as a transmission cover, the grey iron sand cast manifold is intended for medium to high annual production volumes. Nominal pressure is 30 bar and nominal flow rate is 120 l/min.

Secondary brake valve

This compact brake-by-wire manifold incorporates a redundant brake function and a direct-acting, low-leakage proportional pressure-reducing and relieving valve with an inverse characteristic. Available options cover different control pressure ranges, flow rates and control characteristics. The design can integrate a hose burst valve, mechanical accumulator charging, mechanical brake release for towing and accumulator discharge for service. Typical data are 210 bar inlet pressure, 50 l/min nominal flow, 50 bar regulated pressure and 10 l/min brake flow, depending on the selected valve.

One portfolio with global application expertise

The Bosch Rexroth and HydraForce offering combines cartridge valves, compact directional valves, manifolds, electronic controls and software with application engineering. This breadth allows OEMs to select individual components or develop complete electrohydraulic solutions around the requirements of each machine function.
