Hydraulic motors used for heavy material conveyors demand rugged and reliable conveying system controls. These rely on precision-engineered fluid control valves. Hydraforce offers a range developed to meet the most challenging conveying conditions and applications.
Whether it’s coal, ore, salt, or some other material that’s being moved, the conveyor is a key part of the operation. These material transport conveyors span long distances, both overground and underground. Operating in extreme temperatures and dry and dusty or very wet conditions, they must perform reliably and efficiently at all times.
For quarries, ports, power plants, and mines, hydraulic motors offer many advantages over electric drives. A hydraulic motor is more compact than an electric motor of equivalent performance and doesn’t need a gearbox or reducer. This compactness makes them especially attractive underground where they help keep galleries clear for workers and machinery. A hydraulic motor can even be integrated into the head pulley!
Unlike electric motors, hydraulic motors give off very little heat and they run quieter. In explosion risk areas they’re safer than spark-prone electrical equipment. But they do have a downside: they need well-engineered conveying system controls.
Hydraforce manufactures high-quality valves for these control systems. Available functions include:
- Flow control applications – for holding pressure and regulating or blocking flow
- Directional control, acting as a switch or relay to energize and de-energize hydraulic circuits
- Dividing torque between hydraulic motors arranged in series
